Who is eligible to join?
Employees of Select Employer Groups (SEGs) and the immediate relatives of
existing members may join Prospectors Federal Credit Union.
Additionally, people who live, work, worship. attend school or volunteer in portions of the
following communities are eligible to join the credit union.

What is the difference between a Credit Union and a Bank?
Credit Unions are not-for-profit institutions that turn profits made back
into lower cost loans and higher dividend savings for the members. The Board
of Directors is made up of volunteers from among the membership and is not
paid for their time or effort.
Credit Unions are insured by a government based (NCUSIF)
insurance fund, which is the strongest in the United States.
Credit Unions have always maintained a philosophy of "people helping
people," which dates back to the earliest days of the Credit Union cooperatives.
Today, Credit Unions are in place worldwide and offer better services at
lower costs than other financial institutions.
Here at Prospectors FCU we uphold the traditions of the Credit Union
philosophy combined with the today's products and services that members want.
Our mission statement:
The purpose of the Prospectors Federal Credit Union shall be to maximize
member benefits through cost effective financial services consistent with
cooperative principles, applicable legislation and prudent management.
· Towards achieving the objective of the mission statement, the
credit union shall have as its focus:
· The promotion of cooperative enterprise
· Facilitating the accumulation of savings of its members
· The creation of a source of credit for its members at a
reasonable rate of interest
· The provision of full financial services for its members
