JOB TITLE: EFT Specialist
JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for a variety of duties relating to the monitoring and processing of PFCU electronic services, host processing systems and network, while adhering to established policies procedures, and regulations. Provide quality member service. Cross-sell credit union products and services.

Responsibilities and Accountability:

  • Monitor Credit Union’s host processing system including system closedays and backups
  • Process transmissions for:
    • ACH and payroll deduction processing
    • Review of Exceptions/make corrections
    • Online Banking uploads and transaction processing
    • Sharedraft processing
    • Notices/coupons (printing)
    • Ach and Sharedraft Return
    • Ach Origination Set-ups and releases
    • Process Government Deposit Reclamations as necessary
    • Review Websites and credit union programs for virus/fraud/phishing
  • Knowledge of Catalyst Transact software to:
    • Retrieve copies of paid
    • Review Account history, balances, and transactions, including returned deposits
  • Download and print Deluxe ATM
  • Post ATM clearings, review transactions; research and post exceptions
  • Visa Debit cards and ATM functions:
    • Process ATM adjustments
    • Process chargebacks
    • Respond to and resolve items involved in fraud
  • Wire verification
  • G/L Balancing
  • Remote Deposit Capture file processing
  • Monthly
    • Transmit statement file
    • Transmit Credit Reporting to Experian, Transunion and Equifax Quarterly/Annual Computer Processing
    • Data matches for child support levies
    • Tax reporting
    • Fincen 314a data match reports
  • Member Service Functions:
    • Correspond with members re electronic service processes, adjustments and fraud
    • Follow up on problem resolution
    • Fill in for front line staff as needed using cash handling skills
    • Set-up new accounts
  • Prepare for ACH Audits
  • Prepare procedures, document new programs and/or changes to existing programs
  • Attend training and comply with CWCCU policies and procedures as well as applicable State and Federal
  • Maintain open communications with credit union management and IT re state of CU systems


  • Requires a broad knowledge and understanding of policies, regulations and procedures effecting credit union practices;
  • Attend training sessions when applicable;
  • Ability to effectively demonstrate professional communication skills with members, credit union staff and vendors;
  • Ability to follow oral instructions and written
  • Make sound decisions based on logic and past

Applicant Qualifications:

  • Member Service Oriented with a neat professional appearance;
  • Organized, efficient, self-motivated and accurate;
  • Must be a high school graduate with basic reading, writing and math skills;
  • Prior financial experience with expertise in electronic services preferred
  • Ability to process large volumes of account transactions with accurately and efficiently
  • Excellent problem resolution, negotiating, leadership and coaching skills with the ability to exercise confidentiality and
  • Experience with PC, Microsoft Word & Excel, ten-key, typing and spelling skills.
