Prospectors FCU + Certified Federal Merger and System Conversion Information

While October 16, 2024, marked the legal date for the merger, the transition of your accounts to Certified Federal won’t happen until the completion of system conversion on February 3, 2025. We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to make this conversion as easy as possible.

System Conversion Weekend: January 31 – February 3, 2025

1. You will be receiving the following items in the mail:

  • Debit / ATM Card on January 20-30, 2025 (To be activated and ready for use on February 3rd)
  • Replacement Credit Card on February 8-18, 2025 (Only if you have an active Prospectors FCU credit card)

Note: You will receive your new Certified Federal credit card before it is ready for use. Please continue to use your current card until we notify you it is ready for use.

2. Online Banking & Mobile Banking App Setup:

Important changes are coming to your mobile and online banking services:

  • The current Prospectors FCU mobile app and online banking services will no longer be available after
    January 31, 2025 at 5:00 PM.
  • You will not have access to online and mobile banking during the conversion weekend
    (January 31 – February 2).
  • Starting February 3, 2025, you will need to:

3. Update Information for any Payroll or ACH deposits/withdrawals

We advise updating all ACH deposits and withdrawals, such as payroll, Social Security, pensions, and other related transactions with your new routing information.

4. New VISA Debit / ATM Card

If you have a checking account, you will receive a More Rewards VISA Debit Card in mid-January. You will not be able to activate your new card until February 3, 2025. When you activate your card on/after February 3rd, you can customize your PIN or select the same PIN as your current card.

If you have only a savings account, you will receive a new ATM card in mid-January. You will not be able to activate your new card until February 3, 2025. When you activate your card on/after February 3rd, you can customize your PIN or select the same PIN as your current card.

5. Prospectors FCU Credit Card

If you have a Prospectors FCU credit card, it will remain active until late-February. We will notify you when you can begin using your new MORE Rewards credit card, which includes a non-variable rate and earns ScoreCard Rewards points for purchases. Your current balance and available line of credit will transfer to the new card.

6. Weekend of January 31 – February 3, 2025

Throughout the weekend of January 31st, all Prospectors FCU accounts will be converted to the new system. On the morning of February 3rd, you will be notified of the completion of the account conversion and you can begin enrolling for mobile/online banking. Please activate your MORE Rewards Debit Card or ATM Card on February 3rd and begin using your new card at that time.

7. Checks and Check Ordering

Your current Prospector’s FCU Checks will continue to work after the system conversion. If you would like to order additional checks, please contact us at 323.859.2250, Option 2.

Merger Benefits

The merger represents a big step forward for Prospectors members. In addition to the added convenience of additional branches and extended phone center hours, members of Prospectors will receive the following benefits:

Higher Rates on Certificates

Prospectors members’ existing share certificates and IRA certificates will be converted to the Certified current rate, if it is higher, for the remainder of the term. Members can also add funds to those certificates and enjoy higher rates for the remainder of the term.

Discounted Rates on Auto Loans

Prospectors members will be offered a .50% rate discount on new/used/refinanced Vehicle Loans as well as Personal Loans. Offer expires April 30, 2025.

Prospectors members are eligible for a .25% rate discount on new First or Second Real Estate loans. Offer expires April 30, 2025.

New Money Share Certificates

A special .25% rate bonus will be added to any new share certificate opened with non-credit union funds. Offer expires April 30, 2025.
